A SINGING competition looking for the next bright Bucks star has lots of new prizes to offer the winner this year.

The ‘Voice of South Bucks 2014’ first heat will be on March 8 and as well as offering £250 to the winner other prizes include a professional popstar photoshoot and a makeover.

The competition, which is in its third year, will once again be held at The Red Lion Pub in Knotty Green, Beaconsfield.

Landlady Tina Massie said: “The prestige of the Voice of South Bucks competition has grown and grown and the quality of singers in the first two years was truly phenomenal. I can't wait to see what amazing talent this year's contest brings to the fore".

Amongst the prizes on offer for this year’s winner is a pair of Diva-style designer sunglasses from Boots Opticians and a season ticket for two at the local tourist attraction - Bekonscot Model Village and Railway.

The lucky winner will also receive a cash prize and a trophy which has been donated by Shoebedo in Beaconsfield.

There will be two heats in March (Saturday, 8) and April (Saturday, 12) whilst the final will be held on Saturday, May 17.

Co-organiser of the event is Tina’s husband, Bob Massie. A TV executive and former Head of Entertainment at ITV, he has worked with some of the biggest singing stars in the world, including Sir Tom Jones, Robbie Williams, Sir Elton John, Diana Ross and Kylie Minogue.

Mr Massie said: “There will be a panel of local celebrity judges like Suzanne Shaw from Dancing On Ice and points will be awarded according to where you finish, with double points on offer for the Final. The singer with the most points across the three nights of the competition will be the winner.”

To enter, just turn up at the pub anytime from 8pm, on Saturday, March 8 and ask for Chris Owen, the host of the competition. He has a library of backing tracks or you can take your own.
