A MAN with a ladder was trying to see into the bedroom of a female householder in Butlers Cross, say police.

Officers, who believe the man had been lurking near to the house for some time, are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident of voyeurism which took place on Saturday.

At about 8.30pm the man was seen with a ladder to the rear of the property in Chalkshire Road.

It is believed he was attempting to see into the bedroom of a female living at the house.

The man was spotted by an occupant at the address and he ran off.

The man is described as white and in his thirties, of medium build and around 5ft 9ins. He was described as having a stocky face and was wearing dark clothing and a dark beanie hat.

Investigating officer PC Alex Field from High Wycombe local CID said: “We believe the suspect may have been in the vicinity of the road for some time and may have parked a vehicle close by, which would have been left unattended.

“I would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area and I want to reassure the community we are doing everything to locate this offender.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Field via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
