WYCOMBE’S furniture heritage may have taken a hit in recent weeks but a new shop in Eden is giving craftsmen a platform to sell their eco-friendly work.

Eco Chic Interiors in the former Wycombe Wanderers shop sells crafted and up-cycled pieces from south Bucks furniture makers, as well as offering free books as part of the national Books Re-use network.

The shop space is offered to craftsmen rent free but they are required to share the on-going costs of running the unit and staffing the shop.

Owner Matt Stansbury said: "We have another shop in Oxford and the feedback was great so we thought we’d bring it to Wycombe, as there’s nothing like it.

"In both shops we have a lovely vibe, people really embrace the concept and appreciate the ability to be able to sell their items in a shop without the high costs usually associated with being in a shop."

Tables, coffee tables, wardrobes, mirrors and ‘distressed furniture’ are just some of items on offer in the shop, which have all been created by recycled and salvaged materials.

Classes on furniture restoration and decoration are also run at the shop. For more information call Mr Stanbury on 07868 754740 or pop into the Eden-based shop.
