THE planning decision to turn a former Post Office building into flats and shops has been deferred.

The application to demolish the former delivery office in Bell Street, Princes Risborough was looked at by Wycombe District Council's planning committee last Wednesday night.

The plan is to build a two storey building with five flats on the first floor and a retail unit on the ground floor, proposed to be used by Morrisons Local.

Planning committee members felt the application could be approved, subject to alterations.

The applicant will now submit a new planning application, with changes to the roof.

The council's conservation officer, however, considers the loss of the building would represent a great loss to the Conservation Area under the terms of paragraph 138.
