THE Sunday markets in Princes Risborough have stopped as the idea did not take off the ground.
The market was launched in the town in July 2011 and aimed to sell local produce.
But due to the lack of stallholders and buyers it has been decided to stop holding the markets.
Cllr Alan Turner said: "We gave it three years, if you like. As much as we tried we didn't feel it was that successful that we would continue.
"It is a shame. We did lots and lots of advertising. It is very difficult to get these sort of things to take off."
They will now concentrate on the charter market on a Thursday and will consider holding themed events.
He said: "It is really taking stock at the moment of what we are going to do next with it."
