TWO men from High Wycombe have been jailed after they pleaded guilty to numerous thefts and burglaries.

Paul Horwood, 33, and Jervaise Shurety, 44, were both sentenced on Wednesday, February 25, after pleading guilty at Oxford Crown Court to a string of offences including theft, burglary and handling stolen goods.

Paul Horwood, from Oldhouse Close, was sentenced to 18 months after pleading guilty to two thefts, driving dangerously, handling stolen goods and a breach of a suspended sentence.

Jervaise Shurety, who lives on Inkerman Hill, was sentenced to 22 months imprisonment after admitting to five thefts.

According to Thames Valley Police, the charge of handling stolen goods relates to a mini digger stolen in Studley Green on August 15, 2013.

And, the five thefts relate to numerous incidents involving the theft of two mini diggers and three dumper trucks, all on different occasions.

Detective Inspector Robin Hughes, from Local CID at High Wycombe Police Station, said: “The two defendants conspired together to target properties in isolated rural areas which resulted in a lengthy investigation to catch them.

“Bringing Horwood and Shurety to justice will have a major impact on reducing rural plant theft across Buckinghamshire."
