MARLOW residents have their first chance to makes themselves heard tomorrow over where to build up to 10,000 new homes across the district.
Wycombe District Council is holding a series of roadshows and meetings to give more information and gather feedback about the ideas for a Local Plan spanning the next 15-plus years.
After beginning in Stokenchurch on Wednesday, the touring exhibition will visit Marlow’s Court Garden leisure complex on Tuesday.
As reported in the BFP last month, WDC has identified the need for huge growth in the housing sector in the coming years, as well as a requirement for new business sites.
With much of the district classified as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), councillors admit part of the growth may mean building on green belt land in the area.
While Marlow is surrounded by AONB to the north, land to the south east near Bourne End and Wooburn could see hundreds of new homes under the draft plans.
The exhibition will look at options to keep Marlow as a thriving business centre and provide local jobs, with a potential business centre mooted for Westhorpe Park.
Once completed, the Local Plan will serve as the blueprint for building in the district until 2031.
