POTENTIAL sites for an additional cemetery for High Wycombe were put forward by councillors last night.
Members of the High Wycombe Town Committee suggested farm land in Abbey Barn Lane and a compulsory purchase of Terriers Farm as potentially suitable sites for a new cemetery.
Committee chairman Cllr Tony Green also suggested teaming up with parish councils, which might also on the lookout for additional burial space, to potentially build a joint cemetery.
The 17 hectare High Wycombe Cemetery in Hampden Road can cater for about 20-25 years of further burials before it reaches full capacity.
The committee wants to find a suitable site to put before Wycombe District Council in a bid to secure a long-term solution for the town.
