A DELICATESSAN which opened on the High Street less than 18 months ago is to close its doors for good after the owner decided to switch the focus of the business.

Martina Hunt, who runs Gather and Hunt, has decided to concentrate on the online market as high costs of High Street trading make life increasingly difficult for independent traders.

The delicatessen, which stocks artisan meats, breads, cheeses and condiments as well as drinks, launched in September 2012.

Martina said: "We have decided that the future of Gather & Hunt is better focussed on the online and corporate and gift markets and pop-up stores rather than a permanent retail site in Marlow.

"So for all our lovely customers they can now access us at www.gatherandhunt.co.uk and watch this space for where we may 'pop up'."

Martina’s business is featured in this month’s Country Living Magazine, with a double page spread on her start-up and drive to succeed.

As yet, a closing date has not been set as the search to find a new tenant gets underway.
