POLICE have announced today a 29-year-old pedestrian died in a collision on a dual carriageway in Gerrards Cross.

Information has been released by Thames Valley Police about a collision on February 26 at 10.30pm on the A413, Amersham Road.

Several vehicles were involved in a collision with the pedestrian on the unlit section of the Chalfont St Peter dual carriageway, which led to one of the vehicles overturning.

The pedestrian has been named by Buckinghamshire Coroner's Court as Jacek Wszelak and had only recently arrived in the UK.

He was a Polish national who was carrying out temporary work in the UK and was expecting to return to Poland.

PC John Belson said: "This is a tragic incident which will have a life-long effect on several people involved who witnessed what happened, not least the family of the deceased individual who was a husband and dad. I am seeking any information from witnesses to a person walking near the carriageway around the time of the incident."
