SPORTY pupils at a Marlow school have been given a boost with the opening of new changing rooms paid for through a fundraising drive.

Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School sports captains Alicia Povey and Robbie Stewart celebrated the official opening of the new facilities, completed this week after cash from the school’s Above and Beyond fund.

Three new changing rooms are now available for boys and a further three for girls, with access from the theatre foyer area.

Robbie, a year 13 student, said: "The new changing rooms at Borlase will benefit the school immeasurably. It will facilitate a less crowded environment in which to prepare for sport which every student will appreciate and look forward to using.

"I only wish I was around for longer to enjoy them."

The project was made a reality with professional support from architect and Borlase parent Tom Russell and his business partner Bob Bradshaw.

The Parents Association also had input to the scheme, as well as parents pledging money through the annual Above and Beyond fund, which is used to support students and improve facilities.
