PEOPLE with hearing difficulties should not suffer in silence with a Bourne End hearing specialist offering their help.
Scrivens Hearing Care will be running an event throughout the week and experts will be on hand to answer any questions, carry out free hearing checks and demonstrate the range of digital hearing aids available.
Hearing loss affects one in six people in the UK, more than 10 million in total, but only around two million seek advice.
Scrivens Hearing Care hearing aid audiologist Gerald Savage said: “Having a hearing impairment isn’t an illness, nor is it a stigma and now with NHS provision on the high street it’s never been easier to access both free hearing care and quality digital hearing aids in the comfort of a store.”
He added: “Wearing a hearing aid should be as natural as wearing a pair of glasses, we hope that our Hearing Awareness Week will encourage lots of people to have a free hearing check and help normalise the use of hearing aids and highlight how easy it is to access free, community based NHS hearing services.”
