Further help in sewage fiasco
FURTHER pumps have been put in place in Hughenden Valley to solve the sewage problems.
Residents in Valley Road and further up the valley had to cope with sewage in their streets and gardens when manholes started to overflow on February 14.
Last Wednesday, Thames Water installed a pump outside the surgery in Valley Road, stopping diluted sewage flowing down the pavement outside homes.
But the four inch hose was too small and the water company sourced two further pumps with a six inch diameter, one of which was placed in Boss Lane. They have now been in place since Tuesday and appear to have solved the problem.
The water is being filtered and sewage is being collected by Lanes for Drains, a wastewater solutions provider.
