SPORTY youngsters at a Marlow school will get some top tips on staying fit this week from the man who trained Davina McCall for her gruelling 500-mile triathlon.

Professor Greg Whyte, who is from Marlow, will give a talk as part of Burford School’s own day of physical challenges for BBC Sport Relief on Friday.

The celebrity coach has prepared celebrities such as Cheryl Cole, Gary Barlow and Eddie Izzard for their epic TV challenges.

And Prof. Whyte has just returned from Davina's trumphant finish to her week-long mission to run, swim, hike and cycle her way from Edinburgh to London for charity.

The 46-year-old also guided David Walliams every stroke of the way through his successful swim along the length of the River Thames.

Pupils at the Marlow Bottom school will be sponsored to take part in an army style assault course through nearby woodlands.

They will compete against each other to complete as many laps of the course as possible, in order to gain the most house points and of course the most sponsorship.

The gruelling challenge will kick off at 10:00am and will go on all day until 15.00 with each year group having a half an hour slot.

Ian Garner, Assistant Head Teacher said: “Students and teachers at Burford School love taking part in Sport Relief. It’s an excellent way to bring staff, students and the community together to get active, have fun and raise money for a great cause!

“We are also really lucky to be having a talk from Professor Greg Whyte fresh from his adventures with Davina McCall.”
