A FOUR-year-old girl is going to swim two lengths to raise money for those less fortunate than her, and she came up with the idea herself.

Gracie Pidding from Monks Risborough has so far raised £175 for Sport Relief after seeing an advert on television.

She is going to swim two lengths in Aylesbury on March 27.

Her dad, Adam, 40, said: "She is only four. She has been learning to swim since early February last year. She had no confidence in water but she can swim pretty well now.

"She had seen an advert on TV for Sport Relief and said she wanted to do something for people less fortunate than her and wanted to raise money for them.

"There was no prompting on our part."

David Beckham will kick off Sports Relief next Friday with an Only Fools and Horses special.

Sport Relief stems from Comic Relief and brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world's poorest countries.

Gracie has a little two month old brother called Beau and has made her parents, Adam and Philippa, 36, very proud. Adam said: "We are extremely proud, especially to organise this all on her own.

"To think of other people less fortunate than herself. It is something she really wants to do."
