A MAJOR refurbishment of a sports centre in Beaconsfield which cost approximately £270,000 has now been completed.

The Beacon Sports Centre in Holtspur Way, has had a complete overhaul with new equipment for the gym.

The Beacon Sports Centre and Theatre, General Manager, Steve O’Reilly said: “We are very pleased with the changes, centre operators GLL, spent around £270,000 to give us the most up-to-date gym equipment.”

Councillor Santokh Chhokar, the Chairman of South Bucks District Council will be opening the gym to mark the celebration.

The gym has 40 pieces of the latest Technogym Gym equipment, with most of the cardio-vascular machines having an integrated TV along with MP3 docking stations.

As well as this the receptions and changing rooms have also been revamped.

Mr O’Reilly said: “The re-opening will affect a lot of local people. We are re-launching at a cheaper rate so we are hoping people will take advantage of it.”

The gym is currently open but the official re-launch and open weekend will be on March 29 and 30.

The open weekend will allow local residents to use the equipment with little or no cost.
