STRICTLY Come Dancing stars were quizzed by Bucks New University students on the world of showbusiness.

Soon-to-be-wed international dance champions Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer, who starred in the last series of Strictly, were part of the 'Dance Industry Panel' that visited the Wycombe-based university yesterday.

Kevin, who previously toured with the show Burn the Floor in the West End with Karen, said: "It was really interesting and I love just talking to like-minded people.

“The students are just starting out on their careers so I hope any advice we gave them was enthusiastically received.

"Myself and Karen previously performed the official opening of a dance studio at Bucks New University so I have quite an affinity with the University and it was great to be invited back."

Asked whether his life had changed since reaching the Strictly final with Susanna Reid, Kevin said: "It's opened up opportunities and we are getting to do plenty of extra things and meeting lots of new people. It’s exciting."

Kevin and Karen spoke to students studying BA (Hons) Dance and Performance and BA (Hons) Dance and Fitness.

The panel was completed by personal trainer Jessica Keeley; Erin Sanchez, Healthier Dancer Programme Manager at Dance UK; Subathra Subramanian.

Director and Choreographer of Sadhana Dance Company; Tricia Walsh, Director of Palio Productions, which works in the cruise ship industry; and Bucks graduate Laura Winnan, a dance teacher, also took part.

Lynn Bouchier, course leader for BA (Hons) Dance and Performance, who is also Kevin's aunt, said: "We were privileged to play host to a diverse and wide-ranging panel whose thoughts, experiences and tips were well-received by our students.
