THE OWNER of a Marlow boutique has dismissed rumours her business is closing down as the store celebrates its first anniversary this week.
Sonia Ackland-Snow, who runs designer children’s clothes shop Ceremony in Liston Court, reassured customers and said talk circulating on Facebook about the business leaving Marlow is not true.
But as staff celebrate the store’s first year of trading, the businesswoman did admit they were hunting for new High Street premises as the shop is tucked away and hidden from view.
She said: "The negative rumour is not good for staff moral and our prestigious children's brand which is going from strength to strength. They say all publicity is good, but not when the rumour is negative and incorrect.
"Our store is up for let but that is because we would like to relocate to a better location suited to our boutique.
"So many people from marlow do not know we are in Liston Court. There is not much we can do apart from have one small sign from the High Street which is barely visible. However, word of mouth is spreading."
