BUSINESSPEOPLE in the Chiltern district are being urged to attend a free conference to learn more about apprentices and trainees this week.

Companies can learn more about the benefits of bringing through young workers at the Chiltern Youth Employment Conference.

The event, which will take place at Chesham Cricket Club in Amy Lane from 6-9pm on Thursday 27, is being supported by Chiltern District Council, Bucks Business First, Connexions, Amersham and Wycombe College, Bucks County Council and Bucks Children and Young People's Partnership.

Cllr Peter Hudson, Chiltern District Council's Cabinet Member for Community, said: "I urge local employers to come along to this event, to discover just what opportunities are out there for businesses, no matter how big or small. Apprenticeships are known to be good for businesses, and youngsters are the businessmen of tomorrow. Like the rest of us, they have to start somewhere, and they have the potential to offer positive input to any going concern."
