Walker forced to spend 18 hours outdoors following a fall
A WALKER was forced to spend a night under the stars when he fell while walking in Cadsden and was not discovered for another 18 hours.
The South Central Ambulance Service was called to a field about a mile away from The Plough at Cadsden at 10.36 am on Sunday morning.
They sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance to a report of a man who had fallen.
The Hazardous Area Response Team also attended as it was believed to be in a difficult area.
Spokesman for the ambulance service, Matt George, said the walker was a male in his mid 40s and he was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with leg and ankle injuries.
He said: "It looks like he had the fall at 4.30pm the day before.
"But he didn't have any way to contact anyone or raise any help."
Mr George said it seemed the man was well prepared as he had managed to keep himself warm.
Firefighters also attended the scene and helped rescue the man. One appliance and crew from Princes Risborough attended.
