AN evening of entertainment filled with talented bands and dancers will be held for animal charity Animal SOS Sri Lanka.

The Totally Tribute fundraiser, which will take place at Hazlemere Community Centre on Saturday, April 19, has been organised by dedicated volunteers Denize Woodstock and Ria Parslow of Posh Birds Production.

Animal lover and full time PA, Denise, has been involved with Animal SOS for four years, and became a trustee after visiting the sanctuary in 2012 to immerse herself further in the charity's work.

Fellow animal lover and close friend, Ria, has been active on the music scene for more than 20 years.

As well as being a full-time welder Ria sings in three bands; Two Non Blondes, Stealworks and New Groove. Ria is a strong supporter of Animal SOS Sri Lanka and helps Denize raise funds for the charity.

The girls launched Posh Birds Productions after organising a successful one-off fundraiser gig that proved showcasing local bands and charity fundraising was a good combination.

The sanctuary is on the south coast of Sri Lanka and homes more than 600 dogs and cats.

Dedicated to alleviating the widespread suffering of street animals, they provide lifesaving veterinary care, refuge and rehabilitation to strays. Outreach programmes are conducted locally educating pet owners in caring for, neutering, worming and flea control, as well as general health checks.

Featuring will be tribute bands Oye Santana, Dancing Queens, Tiny Tina Turner as well as the raunchy Narni Shakers and compere Dame Edna Average. .

The doors will open at 8pm with the first band on stage at 8.30pm, finishing at midnight. Entrance for the fundraiser is ticket only at £10 each; the girls would advise buying them in advance as both previous events virtually sold out but there may be some left to purchase on the door (cash only). Call Ria Parslow on 07751 658803, Denize Woodstock on 07799 175723 or animalsossrilanka@hotmail.com for ticket details.
