MARLOW is now officially rubbing shoulders with the likes of Belgravia and Notting Hill as one of the UK’s most glamorous locations to live, according to a national newspaper survey.

The Sunday Times has named Marlow the 16th most glamorous area to settle, beating the likes of Windsor, Ascot and St Andrews to feature around halfway down the newspaper’s top 30 list.

Marlow is praised as one of the "prettiest and most bustling towns on the Thames", with the annual regatta cited as one of the top reasons for its appeal.

The quality of its High Street is also lauded, along with its proximity to London which provides good commuting links.

Figures published in last week’s MFP support Marlow’s claim as an attractive destination, with the town’s car parks receiving a landmark £1million visitors last year.

And with twice as many new businesses popping up in Marlow compared to the average in the district, the statistics suggest it is becoming a serious place to do business, as well as a spot for the glamorous elite to moor their yachts.

Knightsbridge and Belgravia topped the Times poll, with the area’s houses selling for anything up to £24.5million.
