A TEAM of hotel workers ditched their uniforms for running gear as they braved heavy rain to raise £1500 for charity.

Ten staff from Danesfield House Hotel and Spa in Marlow took part in the ‘Water of Life 10k’ race at Bisham Abbey last month.

And after successfully completing the gruelling course, the team pulled in £1500 for Child Bereavement UK, based in Saunderton.

Anthony Cox, Danesfield general manager, said: “We are pleased to have raised such a fantastic amount for our chosen charity, and we aim to raise even more throughout the year.

“The 10k proved a huge success, as we all got around safely and were very happy to have played our part – even if the weather didn’t!”

The hotel on Henley Road is heavily involved in raising money for charity, with Mr Cox and his team already preparing to run another 10k race for Child Bereavement UK later this year.
