A BROWNIE leader had 40cm chopped off her locks to donate to a children's charity, which supplies wigs.

Lynsey Stewart, 35, is a guider in charge at the Penn and Tylers Green Brownie Pack.

Last Wednesday at the scout hut in Ashley Drive, Lynsey had her waist length hair cut to her shoulders.

The hair will be donated to The Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

When Lynsey said she was going to have her hair cut the Brownies decided to hold a fundraising evening too with books and crafts stalls and games.

Overall they raised £160.

Lynsey said: "One of my sister's Brownies had leukaemia and went through chemotherapy.

"It was a way of giving- there are so many kids who have it."

Lynsey lives in Tylers Green and has been a guider in charge for 18 years.
