A 45-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist was killed in a collision in High Wycombe this morning.

The rider, from High Wycombe, was declared dead at the scene after a collision involving his motorbike and a silver Vauxhall Vivaro van. The driver of the van was uninjured.

The accident happened at the junction of Bassetsbury Lane and London Road just after 10am this morning.

The road was closed in both directions for several hours to allow investigation work to be carried out, causing long delays through High Wycombe town centre.

Thames Valley Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward to help with their investigation.

Anyone with information should contact investigating officer PC Melanie Todd of the Roads Death Investigation Team on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
