A MAN from High Wycombe has been jailed for more than five years for possessing and intending to supply cocaine.

Zishan Haroon, aged 35, of New Road, High Wycombe, was sentenced to 68 months’ imprisonment at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday.

He was convicted by a jury of one count of possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug.

Thames Valley Police arrested Haroon at his home in New Road on July 27 last year after executing a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A large quantity of cocaine was seized at his address and he was subsequently charged on 16 November, 2013.

Investigating officer, PC Andrew Hall of Local CID at High Wycombe, said: “I am delighted with the sentence imposed on Haroon, who was involved in the supply of cocaine in the High Wycombe area and is now suffering the consequences of his criminality.

“Thames Valley Police will continue to target those who bring drugs into our communities and I trust that the severity of this sentence serves as a deterrent for others.”
