ALARM was raised last night after a smoke machine was mistaken for a fire.
Firefighters were called to a property in Oxford Street at 10.55pm yesterday, although it was soon realised that it was a false alarm.
The smoke machine is believed to have been used as part of a party in a residential property.
Although only a false alarm, firefighters said it was right for them to be called.
