TRAFFIC lights will be going up around the county this week as road improvement works begin.

A total of eight roads will be worked on as part of Transport for Buckinghamshire's 'We're Working On It' programme.

The biggest project will be resurfacing of the A413 London Road at Chalfont St Giles, where work starting today will last until Friday, April 25. Temporary traffic lights will be in place between 9.30am-4pm each weekday.

Disruption can also be expected on Cryers Hill Road today, with work lasting for one day, and on Horton Road in Horton.

Tomorrow crews turn their attention to the A4 at Taplow and Colinswood Road in Farnham, with night time work taking place.

Night time work then takes place on Gore Hill in Amersham and New Road in High Wycombe on Wednesday, before Iver High Street receives treatment on Thursday.

Transport for Buckinghamshire say every effort has been made to maintain access for residents, although there may be some delay as works pass properties and the group is apologising in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Parked cars can delay or prevent work being carried out, so drivers are asked to avoid parking in areas where work is scheduled.

Has Transport for Buckinghamshire bothered to look at the roads in High Wycombe? Turning right just above the train station onto Totteridge road the potholes there are a joke and it carries on through Totteridge Hill, Wingate Ave, Hicks Farm Rise into Micklefield. Do we not deserve decent roads to drive on? after all we pay car tax, tax on petrol, council tax and tax on wages and in return for this we get an unwanted crossing between the council offices and the law court on the London Road! Everytime I see a pothole now I am going to spray it with a luminous paint then someone might take notice! I'm fed up watching my hard earned money being taken from me in taxex and being wasted.

Where was the first round of roadworks ? Still have not seen any difference to the road infrastructure, just plain and simple waste of money by employing the cheapest available shoddy cowboys whom fill up a hole with mud then move along to pastures new. Then soon to return to re-fill the same hole with yet more mud and charge this useless and pathetic council yet more money to "re-repair".
So much time, energy, money and most of all respect being wasted !!!!
