AN elderly man died yesterday after suffering a medical episode at the wheel of his car before crashing into the central reservation on the M40.
The accident resulted in both motorway carriageways being closed between Junction 4 High Wycombe and Junction 5 Stokenchurch, for almost an hour.
An air ambulance arrived at the scene and landed on the southbound carriageway after an emergency call was made at 4.29pm yesterday.
The man, who was driving northbound in a blue Lexus died shortly after being air lifted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
