HOLLYWOOD glamour came to south Bucks as two youngsters from the county were given the chance to interview Oscar winning actresses.

Stephanie Carr came face-to-face with Les Misérables star Anne Hathaway, while Sophie Wright had the opportunity of a chinwag with Kate Winslet.

The two budding young reporters were given the chance to meet the stars as part of the Into Film Talent Development programme, which gives opportunities for youngsters to get a behind-the-scenes look at film industry events.

Gerrards Cross resident Stephanie chatted to Ms Hathaway ahead of a preview screening of her new film Rio 2, which went on release at cinemas on Friday.

The 12-year-old Chalfont Community College pupil said: "It was really nice meeting Anne - she was so fun and sociable. I was really impressed because she’s done such a range of films from animation to normal films, children’s films, grown up films - it was really impressive.

"It was really fun, we just chatted. She’s such a big actress but we could just talk just like normal people talking. It was fun and easy to talk to her."

She also met and interviewed Jermaine Clement, another star of Rio 2.

Meanwhile Sophie, from Amersham, spoke to Titanic star Ms Winslet about her latest movie, Divergent.

The 15-year-old Amersham School student said: "It was an incredible opportunity, I was so excited. Kate was so kind and so warm. It was great to speak to her. She’s such a versatile actress - we’ve seen her in Titanic and The Holiday – and I got to ask her about this.

"Because I’m such a big fan of the books it was amazing to hear what she had to say about it and about her character and what this film really means to her because she’s done so many movies and it was great to hear that from her."

The Into Film programme enables young people with a passion for film to report from industry events and interact with inspirational people within film whilst still at school.
