A NEAR death experience whilst on honeymoon has led to a man from Great Missenden having a complete career change, taking pictures of wildlife across the world.
Drew Burnett and his wife Leigh were on honeymoon just north of Norway when a huge chunk of ice fell from an Arctic glacier during a sightseeing cruise - sending giant tidal waves on to the deck.
Drew, 35, was forced to throw himself on to his wife to stop her from being swept away in the freezing-cold water.
After suffering head injuries, Drew was unable to return to work in the city and he has since embarked on a new career as a wildlife photographer and he will be exhibiting his work this weekend.
He said: “I am really looking forward to the exhibition. It was difficult after the accident but I got back into photography and I really enjoy it.”
The exhibition will be held at Great Missenden memorial Centre from Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21 from 10am to 5pm.
