FLOOD-HIT Chiltern residents are being urged to attend a surgery to give their views on what lessons can be learnt.

The Environment Agency-led event is aimed at getting residents' experiences on the flooding of the River Chess over the winter and learn about the recovery work that is taking place.

Representatives from the National Flood Forum, Chiltern District Council, Transport for Buckinghamshire and Thames Water will all be present at the event, which takes place at the Amersham Market Hall from 4-9pm on Wednesday, April 23.

The session will help people understand their flood risk and how they can prepare themselves in future, such as signing up to the Environment Agency’s free flood warning service and preparing a flood plan.

Lorelie Aylward, Flood and Coastal Risk Advisor at the Environment Agency, said: "We are working to support those who have been affected by the recent flooding by listening to their experiences and addressing their concerns. This information is incredibly valuable and will help inform our future work.

"By working with the community and local partners, we can work collaboratively to deliver more effective community resilience in the future and provide greater access to resources, support and information."
