ARRIVA has announced changes to some of its services in and around High Wycombe to “improve reliability”.

The Greenroute 31 between Penn and Downley will be split into two services to combat delays caused by buses having to cross the town.

The 31 will continue to run between Penn and Wycombe every 15 minutes, with the route between Downley and Wycombe served by the new Service 30 every 20 minutes.

The 37 service between Wycombe and Maidenhead will now operate three times every hour, with Arrive promising later running buses to West Wycombe, Stokenchurch, Hazlemere and Great Missenden.

The firm has also revised the timetables of the 74 service between High Wycombe and Slough, and the 800/850 to Henley and Reading.

The changes come into effect from Saturday.

Arriva’s regional publicity manager Richard Lewis said: “We constantly monitor the reliability of our services and the usage of them.

“We have taken the opportunity to revise some of our timetables in the High Wycombe area by adjusting running times to ensure that buses can run as near to scheduled time as possible.

”At the same time we are pleased to be able to incorporate some improvements into our network, with later evening buses for some areas and an improved weekday frequency between High Wycombe and Bourne End.”
