AN ELDERLY driver had a lucky escape on Easter Sunday after her car got stuck on a level crossing.
Fire crews rushed to the marina crossing on Wharf Lane, Bourne End where a black Honda Jazz had become stuck under the safety barriers.
British Transport Police said the driver, a 75-year-old woman, had tried to turn around but got trapped when the barriers came down as a train approached.
However, disaster was averted and the vehicle was freed before the train passed and before fire crews arrived on the scene.
Firefighters from Marlow and Beaconsfield attended the incident, which happened around 3.15pm on Sunday.
