COMMUNITY groups and societies in Marlow have been awarded a series of grants by the council to help with their upcoming projects.

Marlow Town Council agreed last week to hand out over £2000 to groups which requested a slice of funding.

Among the beneficiaries are Marlow Park Cricket Club, which was awarded £250 to help replace sight screens which were destroyed in the storms and floods earlier this year.

Marlow Youth and Community Centre got £500 after asking for funds towards its continued youth work in the town following an initial boost from Bucks County Council.

Performance groups Marlow Amateur Operatic Society and Marlow Players were both awarded £250 towards staging their shows.

And Marlow Regatta received £500 towards costs for June’s event at Dorney Lake, with Marlow Bowls Club given £250 towards a new mower.
