MORE than 100 youngsters went to a parish council event last week, where they were encouraged to express their views.

Hughenden Parish Council organised the youth event at Naphill Village Hall on April 17.

There was a skate ramp, five-a-side football, a sound studio, cookery lessons and other activities.

Cllr Shade Adoh and Cllr Linda Derrick set up the event for ages 11 to 18.

Cllr Adoh said: "It went very well and was beyond our expectations. A lot of teenagers turned up from all over the parish.

"We had people from outside the parish too, who had heard about the event through school."

The young people who attended gave their feedback about the parish and what could be improved. Suggestions included a youth club.

The feedback will be presented at the annual parish council meeting on May 15.

The RAF provided the use of its snooker table and table football, free of charge.

The event was free for youngsters.
