CHRISTIANS from throughout Princes Risborough took part in the annual Walk of Witness through the town.

Organised by Churches together in Risborough, the parade of more than 100 people stopped at various points along the town’s High Street and listened to bible passages before finishing with a short service in the Market Square.

For worshippers at the parish church of St Mary’s, the parade was just one of a series of events held over the bank holiday weekend which included a Passover meal where visitors experienced a meal typical of which Jesus and his disciples would have shared prior to his death.

The Good Friday Experience was a hands on ‘journey’ depicting a number of scenes from the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life on earth including the courtroom where Jesus is brought before Pontius Pilate and a scene depicting the crucifixion.

Chairman of Churches together Risborough, the Reverend David Williams, said: "Easter is one of the two most important dates in the Christian calendar and I am delighted that so many people were able to join us to remember the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus and to celebrate his resurrection."
