A SUPERMARKET in Beaconsfield is planning to extend as they aim to modernise the store.

As well as refurbishing the front of the Sainsbury’s store in Maxwell Road, Beaconsfield, changes are also being planned for the car park in an aim to improve the facilities.

Dave Gilderdale, Sainsbury's Project Manager, said: "The plans represent a significant investment in our Beaconsfield store and will create a much more welcoming and attractive environment for visitors to enjoy.

“We very much hope that our proposals to create a more modern store will be welcomed by the local community."

Sainsbury’s said the refurbishment of the store incorporates plans for improved fresh food counters, including a new in-store bakery, wider aisles to provide more internal circulation space together with the provision of new customer facilities.

The new store extension will be occupied by Starbucks and Explore Learning, which will create more space internally for us to improve the internal store layout and allow more natural daylight into the store.

Outside the store there will be improvements to the car park to make access to the upper car park level easier, together with upgrading the lighting underneath the car park deck, they said.

A planning application for the external changes to the store was submitted to South Bucks District Council last week.
