OFFICERS have continued to search a property in High Wycombe this afternoon as part of a counter-terrorism operation.

The Metropolitan Police told the BFP this afternoon that its investigation was still ongoing at the address in Desborough Avenue.

Witnesses said about 30 officers raided the home at about 7.15am. No arrests have been made.

Wycombe Area Commander Superintendent Ed McLean said: "I can confirm that a search warrant was executed this morning as part of a Metropolitan Police investigation which was supported by local, uniformed officers from Wycombe.

“I would like to reassure the community that we did not arrest anyone from the Wycombe address and there is no threat or risk to the public.

“My neighbourhood officers are conducting patrols as normal and local community advocates have been briefed about this morning's activities.”

It was one of six properties in and around London searched under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act by police officers today.

The other addresses were in Greenford, Hounslow, Brentford and Walthamstow.

Police said a 30-year-old man in Hounslow and an 18-year-old in Brentford were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH.

Neither arrest is connected to terrorism, Met Police have confirmed.
