COUNCILLORS have put forward the name of a new road in Princes Risborough to honour a well known fundraiser.
Peter Robinson has worked hard in the town to keep the day centre running and has supported a number of other charitable causes.
Councillors at the monthly town meeting discussed the option of calling the new development of houses at Longfield, Aylesbury Road after Mr Robinson, after the name was put forward by Alan Turner.
Cllr Will Streule said the council has been advised before not to call streets or roads in the town after residents, and he agreed with that.
He suggested a name of Longfield Close.
But Cllr Gary Hall said: "Peter has worked so hard for this community and it would be recognition of this."
Six councillors voted in favour of suggesting a name of Robinson Close, while two voted for Longfield.
The developer does not have to take the council's suggestion and can choose another name.
