A MAN who was involved in a car collision which resulted in a road closure in Loudwater earlier today has been arrested.

A gold BMW collided with a black Honda Civic near the Loudwater roundabout at 11am today.

Knaves Beech Way was closed as a result of the crash.

The 29-year-old man from High Wycombe was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a crime and for being unfit to drive through drugs, police said.

They added the gold BMW was seen to overtake several vehicles before being involved in a head-on collision with a black Honda Civic, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The BMW did not stop following the incident.

The driver of the Civic, a 24-year-old man has been taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with possible fractures to his hand and wrist as well as injuries to his leg.

Police earlier told the Bucks Free Press that eight injuries had been reported, however, it is believed only one person suffered injuries.

The road was re-opened at about 2.30pm after the vehicles were recovered.
