A MAN died in the early hours of this morning after the car he was driving left the motorway and ploughed through a fence into a field.
At around 5.15am, a silver Vauxhall Astra was travelling northbound along the M40 between junctions 6 and 7 when it left the carriageway on the nearside and went through a fence and hedgerow into the field behind.
The driver, a 29-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses to the one-car crash.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or with information that may assist the investigation, should contact PC Adrian White of the Thames Valley Police Collision Investigation Unit at Aylesbury on the non-emergency number 101.
If you don't want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
