PLANS to convert a former village pub into a nursery have resurfaced after an appeal was launched.

Chiltern District Council rejected proposals to turn the bar area of The Bull in Bellingdon into a children's day nursery for a three year period in November last year.

Councillors ruled converting the pub, in Chesham Road, into a nursery would result in the loss of 'an important community facility'.

But the future of the pub now lies in the hands of the Planning Inspectorate after an appeal against the rejection of the plans was launched.

The nursery group currently based at nearby Cholesbury Village Hall had asked if it would be possible to use the pub, as the hall has limited space and facilities.

It had been intended to revert the building back to use as a pub after the nursery moved out again in three years' time.

The Bull has been closed since 2009 and is currently up for sale.

Two previous applications to convert the boozer into housing were turned down following opposition from resident, but the plans to turn the building into a nursery received seven letters of support from parents whose children go to the group in Cholesbury.
