BATMAN, Sonic, the Transformers and G.I. Joe were spotted in Chesham on Saturday as fans turned out for National Free Comic Day.
They flocked to Alternate Universe Comics in the town centre dressed up as their comic book heroes.
Wolverine and Dr Who author/artist Paul Cornell was at the store, in High Street, as was Chesham author Ash Hewerdine, and both signed comics for fans.
The prize for best children's costume went to 14-month-old Jasmine Phillips's Batgirl outfit, while Thomas Smith won both the hero category and the overall award after turning up dressed as Deadpool.
