A LARGE quantity of cigarettes were stolen from a Marlow supermarket after the front door was smashed with what police describe as a heavy object.

Thieves broke into the Sainsbury's Local store in High Street at 2.30am after breaking in through the front door.

Cigarettes were taken during the raid, which was discovered when staff arrived at the store to open up at 5.30am.

Thames Valley Police, which is investigating the incident, say the offenders fled the scene in a silver car.
