LIGHTHOUSE keeper may sound like a strange job title for a resident of South Bucks, but organisers of a summer holiday camp are looking for just that.
August sees the return of the popular ‘Lighthouse’ club, a Christian club for young people in the summer holidays held throughout the area.
Now in its tenth year, Lighthouse Marlow welcomed over 430 children in 2013, and was only made possible by a team of over 250 ‘Lighthouse keeper’ volunteers.
And now organisers are looking for Marlovians to come forward and give their time to help run and oversee the activities, which include sport, craft, performing arts, music and even a gunge tank.
Volunteers do not have to be regular church-goers or committed Christians yourself, as long as they are happy that the club is run on a Christian basis.
Lighthouse began in Great Missenden and Prestwood in 1987, and there are now nine clubs throughout the South Bucks area.
Marlow’s club is held on the playing field of Holy Trinity School on Wethered Road from August 4 to 8.
