THE Gerrards Cross fun run was another huge success with the Beaconsfield MP even donning his shirt and shorts for the 5km race.

This year’s competition saw over 1000 people run in either fancy dress or their best sporting gear.

It is also believed that several thousand spectators lined the streets through Gerrards Cross.

Attorney General and MP for Beaconsfield, Dominic Grieve finished in the first 450 runners with a respectable time of 29 minutes, 30 seconds.

The winner of this year’s competition was Chris Oddy, with a time of 17 minutes, 19 seconds.

Organisers have now thanked all fundraisers.

They said: “To all the runners, their supporters, our sponsors and volunteers, a huge congratulations and thank you for what you have achieved.”

Money from this year’s race will be going to Kids in Sport and Slough-based charity Home-Start.

Kids in Sport raises money to benefit children and young people who might not be able to participate in regular sport.

Home-Start supports parents in best providing for their children while overcoming illness, disability, emotional and other practical complications.
