A GOLF day organised by a Princes Risborough Rotarian raised an impressive £5,385 for a day care centre.
Tom Winkworth arranged the fundraiser at the Whiteleaf Golf Club to help The Princes Centre reach its appeal target of £300,000.
The centre in Clifford Road, which provides care, support and a variety of activities for the elderly and people with various disabilities, is aiming to raise £300,000 to buy the building and maintain services.
Tom is immediate past president of Princes Risborough Rotary Club and he initiated and led the club's effort on a fund raising drive for the Princes Centre during his year of office, resulting in a £20,000 donation to the centre.
Twenty teams took part in the competition and the money raised included a generous contribution of £1,000 from Barclays Bank.
The fundraising committee, of which Tom is now a member, is pleased to announce that the Appeal has topped £190,000.
Princes Risborough Town Council has also given a further grant of £5,000.
There is a polo event on Sunday, June 29 from 1 to 4pm. Tickets are available from the Information Centre. You can come along and bring your picnic, relax and enjoy watching the polo matches. There will be a beer tent and a raffle with prizes including a two hour polo experience.
You can donate on line by visiting www.princescentre.org.uk.
