A WEEK long regatta which has been held in Bourne End for over 100 years will return on Saturday.

The annual event held by the Upper Thames Sailing Club will feature a variety of boats and races.

The racing includes Merlin Rocket, OK and Wayfarer dinghies, with colourful spinnaker sail flying if the wind is in the right direction, the club said.

The regatta is also the National Championships for Thames “A” Raters, culminating in the race for the Queen’s Cup on Wednesday.

As well as the array of boats on offer, there will also be a camping site adjacent to the club and many attractions nearby.

The main regatta will run from Saturday, May 24, until Wednesday, May 28.

The week will culminate in a junior regatta, held from Thursday until Saturday, May 31.
