THE sale of former-MOD site, Wilton Park, has finally been completed with developers Inland Homes saying they are “delighted”.

The sale of the grounds in Beaconsfield has received mixed reaction with many campaigning against the possible development.

South Bucks District Council opened a consultation over the planning brief earlier this year and received many comments from businesses and residents in the area.

Inland Homes Land Director, Paul Brett, said: “We are delighted to have completed the purchase of this high profile site and we are very excited about the opportunity to deliver a high quality development in accordance with the planning brief.

“We look forward to working closely with the local authorities and the community over the coming years.”

New Mayor of Beaconsfield, Steve Jones, said: “I think it would be lovely to see the process finally move forward.

“We have been waiting for this moment to occur for decades so it is nice to see something finally happen.

“I have mentioned my desires to one day see a bypass built in this town, so I think if this puts us a step closer to seeing that happen, it is a good thing.

“However, I believe there is a lot of debate on what is to be built there still to be had.”
